EIL Intercultural Learning is an Irish not for profit organisation supporting local projects across the world.

Mission statement: "Our Volunteer Abroad programme involves living, working and making a difference in a local community while learning about a new culture and gaining a new perspective on global and development issues. We offer flexible and varied voluntary work and internship opportunities all year round. Our volunteers are supported by highly qualified in-country staff with years of experience in intercultural exchanges and in supporting international volunteers".

We emailed EIL volunteering regards physiotherapy volunteering. Their reply was that they had two possible options for physiotherapists. However, physiotherapists would be working “very much” on an assistant basis.

Project 1: Vietnam

Description of Vietnam: a country of rare beauty with spectacular landscapes, 3,400 km of divine beaches, mountain regions with lush vegetation and charming lakes.

Emerging terribly damaged by war only 30 years ago, Vietnam has made a remarkable recovery. After a decade of strong economic growth and poverty reduction, it is on course to become a middle-income country. Even so, Vietnam remains a relatively poor country. Some sectors of the population, such as the rural poor and ethnic minorities, have not benefited equally from this progress.
